10 years and four cities later, I'm still in awe that I’m living out my childhood dream as a television news reporter. As long as I can remember, I've always wanted to be a television news reporter and journalist. This dream started in my fourth grade class and I haven't looked back since. Every move I've made always led me back to this same spot and the same desire,  to share powerful stories with the world, promote change when necessary, and spark meaningful dialogue in communities.

This year I celebrated 10 years as a working journalist. This journey has been amazing. It’s an honor every time I’m welcomed into your homes and trusted to share your stories. Some of those stories have left me happy, heartbroken, or wanting to help. It’s been a decade of experiences that brought me back home to Birmingham , AL, where I currently work as a Reporter for WBRC- FOX 6 News.

But this journey started just north of the “Magic City.”  My journalism career began in Huntsville, AL at FOX 54 News.

From there, I  ventured to the southern part of  Alabama,  where I worked at WDHN News in Dothan, AL. In Dothan, I led the coverage of an ongoing investigation into potential voter fraud, uncovered illegal citations issued by local police, and reported from command central of a seven-day hostage standoff that gained national headlines.

Then it was back north, I’m talking far north. I landed a job in Rochester, NY as a reporter / multimedia journalist with Time Warner Cable News.  In Rochester, I  was on the frontline of two mass shootings and reported on the fatal accident investigation of NASCAR Driver Tony Stewart. I was the first reporter on scene of the shooting death of a Rochester police officer killed in the line of duty: The first officer killed on the job in 55 years.

The brutal winters in Rochester weren't foreign to me. It reminded me of days at Syracuse University, where I  received my  M.S. degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. I earned my Bachelor of Arts  degree from Tuskegee University, where I received a presidential academic scholarship.

When I’m not on  deadline, you’re likely to find me watching a great documentary , blogging about my favorite fashion trend , spending time with my family, or trying out a new dish.

I would love to hear from you with any great opportunities or just a simple hello.
